File History Flow Visualization

File History Flow Visualization has been developed by Harald Kästel-Baumgartner at the FernUniversität Hagen (www.fernuni-hagen.de). It is a eclipse plugin for the exploration of the history of a single file. The history of the file is fetched, annotations are build and shown in an flow visualization. The dependencies and data of the annotations are saved in a model and can be shown on demand in the registered editor or the properties view. Also it is possible to visualize different types of dependencies. Each author has his own color which can be changed, deactivated or predefined.

At the moment it works only with CVS, but can work with all repository providers that support the file history API (org.eclipse.team.core.history).

This plugin contributes two additional actions to the team context menue.
- Load History in Database (new in Version 3.3.0.3a)
- Show File History Flow
With the first one you can fetch the history of a selection of files and store it in a local database. It's a batch job you can run over night and makes the call of the second action faster. The second is the main action to show up the history flow visualization.
